Delivering to municipalities since 1993

MetGovis is focused on providing property management software solutions, consulting services and carbon accounting programmes to the local government sector and boasts some of the most experienced and knowledgeable people in the business. These are people who understand the challenges facing municipalities and, since 1993, have been developing products and services to help municipalities deliver on their legislated mandates.

 

Our philosophy is one of excellence in developing tools that aid in the smooth and efficient running of processes within government structures. The intellectual capital that we have built up over time provides us with the opportunity to analyse data flow and processes with great accuracy, thus providing our clients with the best possible solutions and service.

 

MetGovis is delivery oriented and the flat management structure reflects this results-driven approach. Senior management are experts in their respective fields and they in turn are supported by teams of subject-matter professionals ensuring that projects and programmes are delivered on time and within budget.

Janet Channing (BA MPhil NDPV)

Managing Director

Janet is a registered property valuer, serves on the national executive of the SA Institute of Valuers and brings a wealth of experience in local government support and project management. She serves as a consultant to the Department of Local Government and Traditional Affairs in KwaZulu-Natal and is a member of the advisory panel, KZN Provincial Department of Land Reform and Rural Development.

 

 

Derick Retief (Certificate in Advanced Programming, Diploma in Datametrics)

Director

Derick is the mastermind behind the MetVal suite of software programs. Proven in the field, these programs have established a new benchmark in the management of MPRA-compliant valuation rolls and billing system integration. In addition, Derick has extensive experience in local government administration and has played a leading role in various municipal valuation and finance departments over many years.

 

Our core mission is based on five pillars

  • Use the MetVal software products to provide an array of industry-leading solutions that will serve the property and management requirements of local government.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and service providers to identify and develop new products and services to serve communities better and increase revenue for local government.
  • Retain a team of committed and talented people who understand the business requirements of the public sector.
  • Develop capacity and empower our partners and users through structured skills-transfer programmes.
  • Promote and measure energy efficiencies within local government through facilitating partnerships using green technology, including registered Clean Development Mechanisms.
